Faster processor or improve adjustments of Dragon?
I am about to use Dragon 11 together with the Swedish to all the similar kind, plus speech synthesizer and some Daisy tools. On this computer there is also going to the
the usual office programs.
I'm dyslexic and working as a sales guy that can be quite hectic sometimes ( always ).
I had to read and write several e-mails during the day signed pending on my PC.
Dragon 11 might be capable of the highest speaking speed, but the time it takes
to write it out on the screen, is a major problem for me. If there is more than five words
spoken, before it's printed on the screen. It's simply not possible for me to verify
if Dragon is writing what I'm saying.
Sometimes there is also the conflict, between the various programs so I had to shut down. And most of them take some time to start.
I have however solved this by installing the OS and the rest of the program on a SSD.
As I read on some of the forms discussing Dragon. I understood that the i7 was the processor that the best way could boost this program. I get the desktop out of this:
i7 2600k, 3.4GHz, 8MB L3
8GB DDR3 1600MHz
SSD + HDD
the result was promising. But not as good as expected. Stop top of the program was excellent. Of the response time, was only okay. And with that I mean, the time it takes to print the words on the screen. And as I am Swedish and him speak his language very well, I really don't speak fast.
Is there a possibility to speed up Dragon 11, as I believe that there was with Dragon 9?
As faceless just a demo tool, that I built to evaluate this program's functionality and performance. The desktop is not what I intend to use. It's got to be laptop.
I looked at the markets to various brand and various processes. And it's looks like as if I'm going to have to sacrifice quite some of my ambition.
Lenovo Thinkpad and Dell has been the one I I looked at, but I guess there is alternatives that might work from HP and Sony VAIO aswell.
DELL ( M4600 ) gives the possibility various components.
Intel® Core™ i7-2620M Processor (4M Cache, 2.70 GHz)
or
Intel® Core™ i7-2820QM Processor (8M Cache, 2.30 GHz)
(Intel® Core™ i7-2920XM Processor Extreme Edition (8M Cache, 2.50 GHz) is too expensive)
Is it known how Dragon11 works with these processes?
Can someone gives if there is a difference?
Very few laptops works with 1600 MHz DRAM.but how severe will the loss be
to work with 1300 MHz?
I would be very pleased if someone could bring some light into these questions.
This is a tremendous tool. And I hope that the world is going to use it, so that you can develop a version also for Swedish and other languages. Cause typing belongs to the 2000 century! Who wants a smart phone?????? Myself, I'd like to talk.

I would get the best headset ( with some kind of USB sound card or interface) like "The Boom" series as less noise = more speed.
My Dragons 11 pros on Win7 64 bit, Core i7 920 (2.3 ghz i think) and 6 gig ram with an SSD drive. The RAM and the SSD do make abig difference. The processor is more than enough.
Worry less about the DRAM speed and make sure its a triple channel setup. That means 3 sticks with a core i7.
But without the right headset your wasting your time.
